Give an example of where a peer-to-peer network is used and list the disadvantages of using this network.

Peer-to-peer networks can be used in small businesses where central control of the network is not important.

Disadvantages of a peer-to-peer network are:

less secure than client-server networks due to the fact that files have to be shared and no password is required

More time consuming to maintain the software on individual computers

Peer-to-peer networks are designed for a small number of users. Network speed and performance start to detoriate if more than 10 computers are on the network
